Grade 6 and 7 Final Review

Pick one of the four topics we have covered this semester
1) Multimedia Presentation (Presenting to an audience)
2) Graphic Design
3) Information Reliability
4) Podcasting
Always include comments on what could be improved, use keywords, skills and ideas that you have been taught
- Were you satisfied with your final product Was it successful and why/why not?
- What new skills did you learn during this project and how did they help you?
- What improvements you would make if you had time. Did anything go wrong?
- What you would do differently if you did the project again. Do you have any alternative ideas that would make this project more successful?
- What would you like to learn in the future to develop your knowledge/skills
Remember that the audience for this work is me, Mr Michael. Be honest, even when you are talking about yourself.

Grade 8 Project 2 Information Reliability, The Media and Propaganda

Part 1 GROUP WORK
You will be given one of the following research briefs. You will be expected to work as a group to research and create a presentation using any appropriate software (maximum of six slides, or equivalent).
- Israel be recognized as its own 'sovereign' country by the Palestinians
- Palestine should receive aid from Europe and America.
- Israel should have to stop building settlements in occupied Palestinian territory.
- Palestinian military groups are justified in using suicide bombers
- The United States should give $3 billion per year in military grants + aid to Israel

You can use any information you think is suitable but you are expected to source all of the information you use in the Information Sources Table and acknowledge the reliability of your information and if propaganda is likely to exist.

Grade 6 and 7 Project 3: AIS News (Information Reliability)

You are working for a fictional newspaper called "AIS News". You are going to design the front page and write the first cover "Bizarre Facts" story about either a celebrity OR sports event.
Activity 1: Use Internet Searching skills to find 5 sources of information to help you write your story. You must complete this Information Sources Table saying where the information comes from and if it is reliable or not.
Higher Level: You don't have to use just the Internet for this! Books, magazines and newspapers etc are also good information sources)
n.b. You can use any type of information in your story; reliable or unreliable, as long as you acknowledge it in your Sources Table!!
Extension Activity: Use Paint.net to design your own banner of header for the AIS news front page.
